Amarilla Golf is situated just 10 minutes from the Southern airport, although you should not be disturbed with any aircraft noise at the apartments. A taxi from the rank at the airport should cost you no more than 20 euros. Amarilla Golf is on the south coast of the island and is only 20 minutes drive to the built up holiday resorts of Los Cristianos or Las Americas. Amarilla Golf is a small quiet resort but there is still plenty to do (see our facilities page). It’s surrounded by an 18 hole golf course and there is also pitch & putt.
There is also a marina literately a stone's throw away, and a lovely bar where you can enjoy a refreshing glass of wine and watch the boats come in and very often see a magnificant sunset! Just past the marina in the direction of Golf del Sur along the coastal path are many restaurants and gift shops.
The Amarilla Golf Club House is also worth a visit even if you don’t play golf! It’s about 10-15 minutes walk away and has a lovely A La Carte restaurant, as well as serving very reasonably priced snacks round the pool. You do not need to be a member. Golf del Sur
This is the resort adjacent to Amarilla Golf and can be accessed by foot or car.
The centre of Golf del Sur, is known as “San Blas” is about 20 minutes walk from the apartments. This is a commercial centre with many shops, bars and multi-national restaurants from Peruvian to traditional Canarian tapas. There is different live entertainment on in the plazas 365 days a year and a picturesque multi-denomination church. There is a regular bus service which will take you to the north of the island such as the capital, Santa Cruz, or the picturesque port of Puerto de la Cruz for a day out or to Los Cristianos/Las Americas and even as far west as Los Gigantes famous for it’s spectacular cliffs.
Los Abrigos
It's also possible to walk for about 20-30 minutes across to the typical Canarian fishing village of “Los Abrigos” where you can watch the fishermen bring in their catch of the day to one of the harbour restaurants and take your pick! You can’t get fresher tasting fish than that!
